Summary of the meeting

The annual meeting of Diagonal Associations network was held at “Villa Mercede” in Orvieto town, Umbria province, in Locanda Rosati which nowadays is one of the best examples of agritouristic hospitality.

Every year representatives of national branches of Diagonal Network come together to discuss structure, future plans and activities of the network, to welcome newcomers, to evaluate past year and to find new perspectives for cooperation and fund raising. EUYA has joined the chain since September 2003 and slowly but steadly starts cooperation with other branches of Diagonal. Thus, one of the issues of the meeting was to find possibilities for expanding of the network and cooperation among EU and Latin America that is naturally becoming actual in frames of the priorities of Youth Programme.

Several important topics were discussed during the meeting:

• activities and future programmes in Latin America following the presentation by Julio Echeverria (Diagonal Écuador);
• software and media used in vocational training following the presentation by Arianna Dorigatti (Diagonal Trento);
• aspects and methodologies of networking in Diagonal following the presentation by Gino Colazzo (Diagonal Trento).

In general, the meeting was not only institutional exchange of ideas but carried also personal attitude. The confidence is considered as the point of force developing Diagonal as united community of common professional and cultural activities. Therefore increase of the network to national and international level is the main goal. From this point of view, the assembly was also the encounter between diversified interests and requirements.
